Today is Training Tuesday and I want to chat about feeding our dogs. This week I am going to tackle the question I get about free feeding or feeding multiple times per day.
[Want to learn more about my FREE webinar? Check out the info at the end!!]
Now onto the topic at hand!
Let’s be honest, free-feeding is WAY easier, you just put the food down when the bowl is empty and go about your day. It is the simplest option around.
Here is the hiccup with that……
1. For some dogs, controlling weight is an issue.
2. In a multi-dog home, you never know who is eating what or how much.
3. And the BIG ONE…. if your dog always has access to food, they really don’t need us.
Let’s dive into #3.
When we feed our dogs and expect them to eat all their food within a set time, it sets us up as the leader. Doing so can actually set our dogs up for success on many levels, including curbing some small and even large behavior problems.
If you consider a pack, the alpha...
Hey all, Bree Beery here from PPTW, and this week is our 100th “episode” and I am excited to share with you how I made a calming ball for my dogs.
I know it sounds strange, but when I tested it out, it worked. LOL. So I am sharing it with you.
I started with a Hol-ee Roller Ball and used some fabric scraps that I had from an old project.
I added a few drops of my dogs favorite calming oil, in this case, I used Balance.
My dogs have a great time playing with the ball. Yes, they pull out the strips of fabric, so if your dog likes to do this too, make sure that this is a supervised activity to ensure that the strips do not get ingested.
This toy is great to have out when you have company, or there are other distractions that may cause your dog to act naughty, and calm is needed.
This is ideal for dogs that stress up, meaning they get overly excited when company comes over and they just want to play play play. Using your calming ball will help settle their minds, while still...
One of the questions that I often get from my clients with new puppies or older incontinent dogs, is how to get the urine smell out of carpets and rugs.
I have been on the receiving end of both the puppies and the old dogs and I have tried many many different OTC options, and you know what, I now just make my own.
I have a two-step process. The first is to use doTERRA OG cleaner concentrate. I mop up as much of the accident spot as possible, I then spray down the area with my premade OG cleaner and do a light scrub. Honestly, I use this same mix to clean EVERYTHING in my home…counters, showers, toilets…you name it.
Step two, I use a DIY essential oil rug refresher. I make my mix in a mason jar, as prefer to use glass since I am using my oils. I take 1 cup of baking soda and add 10 drops of my chosen oil. Normally I use cedarwood, lemongrass, or purify, some even choose to use lavender. If you need an extra kick to your...
Right now so many families are being affected by wildfires here on the west coast, for this reason I decided to put together some information to help those in need to cleanse the air in their homes.
Many of the oils that others recommend using maybe in combination too strong to use around pets OR have cautions when using around pets with health issues.
So with that, I wanted to share what I am doing to best support the air quality in my home for my entire family which includes kids, dogs, and cats.
I personally use a water-based diffuser and have these placed around the house and it is important to say, that I only use doTERRA EOs. This means if you are not using 3rd party certified pure essential oils, I do not recommend using them as it can be dangerous to the health of your pets.
If you are in need of doTERRA EOs and are not currently working with someone, you can reach out to me directly and I am more than happy to help you…I am all about the education.

This is a common question I get from my puppy clients, so today I wanted to share some info.
As we sit and watch our puppies and dogs play, it can make your heart sing, but then as they get more and more excited, things can quickly change! At this point, many don’t know what to do….will they work it out, will they simmer down, or will it turn to aggression?
Keep reading, I am going to give you 4 tips to help you know how to gauge the situation.
But first, I need to mention. Dogs that live together learn each other’s play style. They figure out how far they can push each other, and some of their moves can be perceived as dominant. When the dogs know each other, this may not escalate into a problem. However, when watching this same play with a new dog, it may not be taken kindly.
Regardless of housemates, or a new playdate, here are 4 steps to watch out for and bank your odds of success:
1. Body Placement. Are the dogs stretched out on the ground, maybe even upside...
